Nor is it the "made for tv" version of events that many of us received in middle school. In a way, it's good of arizona to cast the first stone. They have shown america that the study of our actual bloody history is so important that it is banned in some places. Factual information should not and will not be stifled. Situations like this are fanning the flames of hate, not subduing them. We have to own up to our crimes AND triumphs to truly understand what it means to be an american. If we have that courage, we can write a new chapter of peace, prosperity and an equal opportunity pursuit of happiness. Rather than spending all of this time desperate to re-write the past. <br><br>There's a few history channel documentaries about the real life stories of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. It struck me funny when I heard the advertisement. Don't we already know the real life history of this founders? Not at all. In fact, our version is so abridged, so fantasy/superheroish as to not be the real person at all. Something to consider. Watching the re-telling of the reagan years being played out in the conservative universe tells me that people believe what they want to. The truth is a distant second to the primary need.
