Stereotyping any group for the actions of a few is wrong. And that's what's going on. The fact is Muslims are not all terrorists. And that's the connection people like Palin, Boehner, Gingrich, et al., want to make, and are working hard to make sure that connection is in the minds of as many Americans as possible. It's part of their political strategy.

Nevertheless, I always play the devil’s advocate concerning Islam or the ground zero mosque debate, strictly based on 1st amendment rights but at the same time feel the incitement to violence, keeping American empire not out of mind, can be placed squarely on both sides when you look at the record.

I know I’m getting off subject, but no one burned any Korans in Europe that I can remember. Yet, Muslims in Europe, despite the multicultural outreach by the Leftist governments who bend over backwards to help Muslims, still get pillory. Even criticizing/protesting Islam too much, with words alone, like in America, automatically brands one as racist and Islamophobe. This is totally ignorant. To have to walk on eggshells just for this particular religion. And I cannot remember when the Muslim world has not exploded. These people are always in perpetual outrage. But then, in my view as a skeptic, this is what happens when religions get to run the show.

Nevertheless…

The Islamophobia in this country results in an escalation of violence toward Muslims in this country. Burning Qur'ans is an explicit incitement in this case. The pastor fully understands what the consequences mean.

That does not mean, however, the pastor doesn't have the right to speak whatever nonsense his tiny brain can cobble together. He's become a provocateur. He's a tool for the likes of Sarah Palin and John Boehner and Newt Gingrich. He's doing their dirty work. And if a few brown-skinned people get killed over it… oh, well.

The Supremes have established limits to Free Speech. And that isn't new to this case. Unless and untill that is overturned, there is precedent here for certain limitations.

This addled fool is not going out shooting innocent people like our troops in Afghanistan, he's only making a protest which has been blown all out of proportion by the new media outlets of pop cultural politics; as at AlterNet, where we get to get pissed off by the slightest little thing and feel better. As if anybody cares.

What incites violence is America's arrogant and aggressive empire. Our foreign polices and foreign occupations are causing civilian men, women and children to die needlessly, before and after America ruins their economy. This is what inspires hatred and this is what recruits more Taliban and other groups. What also incites violence is our dysfunctional culture; but that's another story.

A religion didn't attack us on 9/11. And no amount of lies from you will ever change that.

Why do you hate the Constitution, Mr. Pointy Head?

Seems like our troops could better use more ammunition than Korans.
