I'm not exaggerating one bit. Bankers are at the root of the problem with the economy, and they could fix it tomorrow, since they could be "creating" money to lend out at will.

So long as money and lending are tight, people won't have jobs, and the dissatisfaction with the government will grow. Why else would the Republicans ALL see fit to vote against UI?

The government needs to reassert its own right to make the currency, and get that function OUT of the hands of the banks.

And DON'T forget the bankers driving all of this discontent by refusing to lend money out. I grew up in the south and it was well understood that the yankees wanted to take those rights from us, the civil war having proved the case. And it was also well understood that states rights was code for segregation. Now that segregation is outlawed states rights is in my opinion a legacy of unresolved bitterness toward the federal government that forced desegregation, and by generalization a federal government that tries to do much of anything. Of course a lot of the people involved don't know/care about the history of it. And lots of people just plain enjoy being angry. People are all fired up because the demagogues have convinced them that they have a right to be, and anger makes us feel so righteous and we like it. So who really cares about states rights? Are the teabaggers really so in love with the constitution? Were they raised by their parents to be little constitution wonks? What I think I see is the forces of greed making common cause with the forces of hatred, and the two hiding their black hearts behind the constitution while whipping up the delusional and gullible as their shock troops. The greedy and the bigoted don't want any sunshine and they don't want the government (the people) in their business. What we are in is an apparent ascendancy of the meanest aspects of our national character. Joe Miller is another of the ruthless pinheads looking to ride the wave.

The battle cry of “states rights” has been around a long time. They don't seem to get the idea that economics and the labor market have changed radically since the 1700s, and that we have to adapt to those changes in the way we approach business and economics... that if we want our country to succeed and not have huge swaths of working poor, if we don't want a return to gigantic slums and tenements we have to do things like this.

Its funny how people like this as well as Libertarians, etc… believe that we somehow did all these things… social security, regulating business, etc… for no good reason, and they don't bother to look back at history to see why these things came about.

But since you showed up again, what's the problem with documenting racism at Tea Bagger events? Since they seem to think it doesn't exist, I think they may need proof. You should be careful... you might give people the impression you have something to hide.

It's not like that site is paying anybody for anything.
