Hear, hear! I'd like to see those bigwigs out there cleaning up oil, rather than sending our poor, desperate fishermen and workers down there with NO protective equipment and letting them fall ill. If anyone had ANY doubts as to whether BP cares about what they have done and the impact it is having on people and the land, this should clear it up for them.

They have taken away these men's livelihoods and now they are killing them; paying them a pittance – because they know they are desperate for money for their families – to clean up THEIR mess!

If it's so freaking safe that the workers don't need respirators how about Tony doing a little clean up duty . That would be a real PR coupe for BP, wouldn't it
Sort of like what Christine Todd Whitman should have done at WTC site . Now all those workers are sick and the GD Congress is afraid it will cost too much to help them

Criminal charges are appropriate, and maybe someday we will see a very low level employee face charges.

As to the Supremes ruling that Corporations are citizens, the small print was ignored. The small print that said, except in criminal or civil cases, when the Corporate shield will be in place.

Ya bribe the right people and you can have your cake and everybody elses cake too.

Criminal charges with appropriate punishments including prison time are necessary. If a citizen of this country committed 1/1,000,000,000th of the negligent damage BP has, they would be behind bars. Since the supreme court has now ruled that corporations are people too, Oil corps. ought to have the personal responsibility to go with the rights. The death penalty for the corporation itself, is needed to teach other corporations to be responsible. Kill BP completely. Dismantle it. Nothing will effectively clean up the toxic damage or bring back the dead. All we the people can do now is prevent it from happening again.

At some point in time people are left to come to their own conclusions. When there's a shortage of information, minds begin to speculate. It's a nutural human reaction. We really know very little about this incident. I do know that 14 countries have offered help to BP and I guess they haven't accepted. The only logical direction leads to the question:”What really happened”. It's not quite paranoia yet, but it will be in a few days. Maybe that's why these guys still have jobs.

Tony Hayward had the balls to say in a press conference this morning that the workers cleaning up the oil in the Gulf of Mexico are sick due to "FOOD POISONING" and not the result of inhaling the fumes of mixing the toxic goo (dispersant) with the oil.

Nevermind that doctors have already concluded that they are suffering from upper respiratory problems. As far as I know, people don't have shortness of breath and nasal burning from food poisoning. Yet BP still won't provide respirators for those cleaning up this mess. Hayward said it "isn't necessary."

Unfuckingbelievable.
