I'll hazard a guess. It's not part of the propaganda narrative. Many of those same ethnic militants are pro business. Labor law enforcement of any kind is against their interests.

We Americans would do all that, of course. If we were paid a decent wage to do it. But the pro business narrative is that cheap foreign junk is desirable even if it costs you your livelihood. Between that and the fine examples of semi-slave labor provided by illegal immigrants, we Americans are slowly being taught that our labor is worthless – and that we exist only to benefit our would-be masters. The American middle class is in decline – and our overall economy with it. Strike that – the American middle class is under assault and faltering. It seems that Noam Chomsky was right. The only class still conducting class warfare these days is the rich.

That the heart of the problem is illegal employment seems so transparently obvious, it seems inexplicable how anyone could support the law, how anyone with a modicum of intelligence or rationality would even suggest the law! Or is it simply that such people wish to re-institute slavery – although it is questionable whether slavery is economically beneficial.

It is puzzling to me. Why don't the xenophobic ethnic militants who support this law rather push for draconian enforcement of fair-labor laws. The slave labor would drop, the human trafficking would drop, barbarity would drop, the numbers of immigrants would probably drop also. Who will pick the fruit? Who will clean our smutty motels? Who will slaughter our corn-fed beef? ….

The whole point being illegal. If we are looking for a suspect in any criminal act we go by descriptions.So to get illegals you need to look for the race of the illegals.People dont mind being profiled when they can get something positive from it. But when they are profiled for being illegal that is different. I read someone profile Pit Bulls. Guess what they are not all the same so dont profile them.White people are profiled prejudice by black people, natives, etc. As far as the people that hire the illegals they also get into trouble by hiring them.And if they want better pay they need to come into the country legally and pay taxes and live as a American Citizen. We all have to pay to play.No exceptions.

Agree. Empolyers are addicted to the extra profits they get using illegals. We have college graduates mowing lawns for money so there is no shortage of legal American's willing to do the work. The pro illegals saying food prices will sky rocket are lying. Employer's will have to live with smaller profits or no profits. Bill Gates is a multi billionaire but still wants to cheat qualified Americans by having unlimited H1-B visas so he can hire less qualified Indians for much less.
Personally we are far from rich but really have no needs and very few wants so we are baffled by wealthy people who aren't satified with what they all ready have.

Its not about whether people here in this country should be sent home or otherwise penalized-its about HOW we determine this. This law offers no mechanism to determine who should be stopped other than appearance, both dangerous and unfair. The only way our rights can be preserved is by laws that are not arbitrary as this one is.

Look-most of the domestic “terrorism” in the country (ranging from school yard shootings to OKC to the recent poor fellow who flew his plane into an IRS building) was done by white men. Do you favor a law that makes it OK for the police to stop and question people because of this? Doubtful, because among other reasons, it is not right to cast immediate suspicion on a whole group of people on the basis that SOME of this group has committed crimes. If you allow one to happen-then clearly the other is OK too. No one disputes that the majority of the illegals are Hispanic. Unfortunately, it's a case of, "Damned if you do, damned if you don't." Regardless, it (stopping for questioning) still amounts to racial profiling. There's just no two ways around it.
