When water reaches the price of oil it to will be shipped around the globe. The corporations are only trying to complete their death grip on every aspect of our lives.
They put the fear into people about the quality of their wells so that they would make the move towards purchasing water, and that has been pretty effective. But they pull the water from the same sources and you could probably do a better job filtering it then they would. Remember they have to pay shareholders and you do not.

Unless you are located in an area without water underground or rain from above try not to give up on your own means of access to water.

Next they will be trying to sell us air by the breath...just wait...pollution to these characters is a gift.

I read somewhere that the worst kind of dictatorship it a water dictatorship. Control the water and you also control the food. No one can live without either.

Now that every citizen is forced to patronize the HC robber barons, next, our corporate masters intend to control our water.

If that happens, expect shortages - that's how prices get driven up. Enron was already pushing into that field when they went belly up. Remember what they did with California's power?

It can happen. It will happen, if we let it. Don't look for any help from Obama or the current crop of Dems. They'll sit on the boards of the corporations, by and by.

Yep, as the economics get worse for states and local government the corporations are licking their chops to buy not just water utilities but anything on the commons they can make monopoly profits out of ...

The State of California is already putting its "paid for" office buildings up for sale only to sign multi year leasing deals for billions more on those same properties.

What we will be seeing is the wholesale privatization of anything on the commons as states and local governments sell our public works, public lands and privatize public jobs ...

Privatization is theft. Any politician who backs it is probably a corporatist, and should be treated as an enemy of the people in the voting booth.

It is seriously frightening that, even with all this information, Mayor Daley is attempting to privatize Chicago's water. This will not only result in higher prices for water, but put everyone at risk. Even if the private company managing our water kills thousands of people, they will still make money. Regulation? Who will monitor the water company? Who pays for that? This will end up as successful as our private medical care.
