Corp.s are required by law to sacrifice any and all other considerations to the prime requirement of profit for the stockholders. Examples of corporations sacrificing health and lives of customers to profit are often in the headlines, but more often ignored by corporate media.
I fully recognize my good fortune of living in the country, so I'm able to get most of my food locally.
I recognize how impossibly difficult that would be in most neighborhoods in the US, particularly the ones I would have to live in if I didn't have the soft berth I have here. Especially if I had to work 40 hours a week, and spend more hours getting to and from work.
I have a (2nd hand) computer, but I haven't found a way to access the internet without supporting corp.s, same for phone. I still often drive for 20 min.s rather than walk for an hour and a half.
So I'm not blaming the people who eat that shit, I'm not even blaming the corp.s (they are, after all, just obeying the law). I'm blaming the laws, and the US education system that hides all this. I can't even blame the corp. media that supports it. They're part of the mega-corp.s that own the agri-corp.s, the war-making corp.s, the fossil fuel corp.s. Of course they support them, they're part of them.

If yer putting from a corp. into yer body, yer putting yer life in their hands.<br

That stuff is in lots of foods, tastes great (IMO) and would sorely be missed. This story is just another food poisoning outbreak, not nearly the news item as finding a problem with Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein. I was afraid it was going to be the next mad cow disease story. Whatever happened to the mad cows anyway?School lunches? To keep up on all the latest diseases, I recommend the Center for Disease Control's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR). http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/mmwr_wk/wk_cvol.htmlYou'll love it.

I am so glad it is just salmonella, not that that is a good thing, of course but from the title I thought Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein had just been found to be harmful.

What a relief!
