Will You Let Google Chip You and Read Your Mind? Eric Schmidt Thinks You Will

The CEO of Google has some ideas.

Eric Schmidt sees a future in which Google can implant you with a chip and read your mind. All with your permission, of course.

..Schmidt was talking to The Atlantic about the possibility of a Google implant – a chip under your skin that would track you and provide easy web access. That, Schmidt said, was probably over ‘the creepy line’.However, he followed that by saying: “With your permission you give us more information about you, about your friends, and we can improve the quality of our searches. We don’t need you to type at all. We know where you are. We know where you’ve been. We can more or less know what you’re thinking about.”

Some might argue that that is over the line too but Google will only read your mind “with your permission”, so that’s a relief….(source: blogs.telegraph.co.uk)

So far nobody seems to mind the corporate invasion of privacy. They do, however, get a little worked up over government invasion of privacy.

In short, you have no privacy. None of us have any privacy.

But it is only going to get worse, if we let it.

In the future, Schmidt’s technological nightmare of a chip in every body and mind reading google will likely become a reality. But if people want to keep a little dignity and humanity. It doesn’t have to be that way.
