Davidson Loehr has been a musician, "The Vietnam Entertainment Officer" in Saigon, then combat photographer and press officer with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Xuan Loc, Vietnam. He owned a photography studio in Ann Arbor, sold it, became a carpenter and drunk. In 1979, he went to the University of Chicago for a Ph.D. in theology, the philosophy of religion, the philosophy of science, with an added focus on language philosophy. Starting in 1986, he went into the ministry, now retired after 23 years as a Unitarian minister. He has one book, _America, Fascism & God: Sermons from a Heretical Preacher_ (Chelsea Green, 2005), and is working on another book on the rise of secular religion in America.
