Talking Points: Call for Senate Hearings on Pedophile Priest Crisis, 11 AM Good Friday L.A. Cathedral

Congress had hearings for 9 11, for Waco, and for steroid abuse, are the tens of thousands of victims of sex abuse by clergy in the United States any less deserving?  I spoke with Jim Robertson, L.A. SNAP leader yesterday, and he told me this is what he plans to say at the event this morning, 11:00, at the Catholic Cathedral downtown L.A. at 555 Temple Street. 

Survivors of clergy sex abuse have known for years that the guilt goes all the way to the Vatican, especially Pope Benedict XVI, not because we have a vendetta for him, but because some of the evidence released this week, such as the Servants of the Paracletes documents, have been available to us for years.  (Click here to see Paracletes Docs scanned in at City of Angels in June 2008.) Now that the rest of the world sees the hiearachy collusion, the people of the United States deserve hearings at a Federal Congressional Level to find out the extent of aiding and abetting of pedophiles in the Catholic Church that resulted in Six Thousand predator priests discovered so far in this country.   Jim told me this is what he plans to say today at the Cathedral:

We’re here on Good Friday to call for Congressional hearings and a federal investigation of the pedophile epidemic in the Catholic Church and in all other tax exempt institutions.

We were injured by Catholic Church negligence.  We are casualties

Now we turn to the only group who can help both sides get to the truth of this conundrum, and that is the citizens of the United States.

The American people deserve to know how six thousand pedophiles could have operated as priests in the Catholic Church with free access to rape children in the last sixty years.

We are calling today for a Federal investigation and Congressional hearings about the Pedophile priests in the Catholic Church and all other religious institutions.

We ask everyone who hears us to contact their U.S. Senators and Congressional representatives asking them to open an investigation and Congressional hearings into the pedophile epidemic in the Catholic priesthood and in other religions.

All religious organizations have tax exempt status and that status has benefited who. Not the victims of child rape

Aren’t you fired if you screw up on your job?

As citizens we the victims of Clergy Abuse in Los Angeles ask our government to find out and get out all the truth to exonerate those who should be exonerated.

Not here to attack the Pope or the Church. But that there are those in the Catholic Church who are opposed to transparency and truth speaks volumes about their agenda.

We want an investigation into how the Catholic Church and other tax free organizations that work with children have allowed so many pedophiles to get prey on kids in the United States.

After demonstrating in front of this Cathedral for 8 years, after today, we are moving these protests to federal buildings in Los Angeles, as we can see now after 8 years, that all we will ever get from this religious institution is whitewash.
