This is Grammasanity: age 64, 23 years formal education, D.C. degree, 3 kids, 8 grandkids. I live in the poorest county in America, with one of the richest cultures. My family lives in a much richer place, with all the advantages thereof.
I have been a student of religions for 40 years. I am a patriot: 11 of my ancestors were part of George Washington’s army, and my father fought in WWII.
I believe in the qualities that made our country great: faith, individual initiative, and community cooperation.
I believe in love, in the power of song, in joy and thanksgiving for all that we have been blessed with .
I believe that suffering makes us strong, that nothing worth having comes without effort, that change comes over time, that a long period of struggle sometimes precedes a victory.
I have suffered and struggled, lost and won, become someone I respect and admire.
I hope that my words can find a connection in your minds and hearts. Nobody can win the battle alone. It will take all of us who believe, to make the future.
